About the Owner

My name is Greg Brahe. GCB (my initials) is a nickname my mother has called me since I can remember, but you can call me Greg.

I grew up in Appleton and began learning the skills of the trade from my father who owned rental properties and fixer-upper homes and was always working on some project or another. I took a job doing maintenance in high school and continued in that position until after I completed college, earning a Biology degree and a lot of experience in problem solving and analytical thinking along the way. I worked on and off in residential remodeling during this time and for a few years to follow, but when my first child was one year old I decided to stay at home to be the primary caretaker for our children.

It was my honor and a privilege to be a stay-at-home dad and childcare provider for nearly ten years. During that time, however, I was honing and refining my skills through renovations in nearly every part of my own home and even building an addition onto our home, all while working within a very strict budget. I was also the provider of the same kinds services to an ever-expanding circle of family, friends, and acquaintances on a regular basis during those years. After my children were old enough to be in school, the demand for my services became a full-time occupation, and thus GCB Home Improvement was born.
